 Icon with St Anastasia the Healer (Pharmakolytria). State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg
The cult of St Anastasia the Healer was widespread in both Constantinople and the Balkans, particularly in Thessalonike. A healer of sickness, both bodily and spiritual, of particular assistance in cases of poisoning, and an exorciser of demons. Her feast day is December 22.
