Our Lady of Pimen
The Russian chronicles first refer to the icon known as Our Lady of Pimen in entry for 1404-07. The icon owes its name to Metropolitan Pimen, who visited Constantinople in 1381 and 1388. The manuscript collection (1714-16) includes a detailed story of the icon. Among the miracles the collection also mentions that the head of Our Lady of Pimen had exuded holy oil. Represents the iconographic type of Hodegitria.
